Meet the girl behind Girl Goes Writing.
Here’s the short version:
Hi, my name is Amanda. I love writing. I want to help make your writing shine.
Here’s the longer version:
I’m a writer, blogger and poet that lives in the metro Milwaukee area with my guinea pig, Ferdinand. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a B.A. in English-Creative Writing and a minor in Portuguese. I am obsessively curious and excited to write about just about everything.
Before embarking on my freelance writing career, I interned at a major publishing company as a copywriter, was a contributing assistant editor at a major food magazine, wrote poetry, flew to Brazil a few times and baked a whole lot of cakes.
You can never find me far from a cup of coffee (in the morning) and a cup of tea (in the afternoon). And if there’s a sporting event on, I’m probably watching it–while writing, of course. Check out some of my writing, read through my blog, follow me on Twitter and contact me for your next writing project.
Why did I start Girl Goes Writing?
I had always been intrigued by the world of freelance writing and blogging, but I never quite knew how to get started with it. It seemed difficult. It seemed intense. I wasn’t quite sure if I knew where to start.
What did I learn? Have confidence. Writing and blogging are easier than you think, and they can be rewarding in so many ways.
With Girl Goes Writing I’m looking to share with you what I know about writing, about blogging and about living and piece together how it can apply to the blogosphere.
When I learn something new and awesome, I want to share it with you. Look for short, insightful posts that can help you better your own writing, your own blog and your own life.
Write it. Blog it. Live it.
Here we go.
